FAQs

What should I expect from my first therapy session?

The first session is focused around getting to know one another, discussing your presenting concerns, discussing a treatment plan, and completing your initial intake.

How long should I expect to be in therapy?

Each client is different, depending on their presenting concern; however, most clients tend to meet weekly for at least 3-6 months. Remember, that these presenting concerns often took months or years to escalate and will take time to process. Length of treatment also varies depending on the client's involvement during and outside of each session.

Why would someone not use their health insurance?

Some clients choose to not use their health insurance as they do not want a mental health diagnosis attached to their medical record. In order for me to bill your health insurance, you must have a diagnosable mental health concern.

Will my information remain private/confidential?

Yes your information is private. The only time that I will disclose any information that we discuss during our sessions is if I believe that you or someone else is in harm's way or if I am subpoenaed by the court system.
